The prize winner of each domain will receive €500 per thesis, a bronze sculpture of the ‘Wageningen Tree’ by Sjoerd Buisman, a certificate and a jury report.
The overall prize winner is Hanna Rovenich, she receives €1.000 instead of €500. The festive and public prize ceremony has taken place at 16:30 hrs on 7th February 2013 during the Winter Annual Introduction Days of Wageningen University in the Forum building, in Wageningen.

The thesis prize is for Wageningen University students who have written an excellent thesis or publication in the master phase of their study.
Each year 4 Wageningen University students are awarded a thesis prize for its level of excellence by the Wageningen University Fund (WUF). One prize is awarded per education domain. The 4 domains are: life sciences, social sciences, environmental sciences, and agro-technology and food.
Starting in 2012, the Wageningen University Fund will also extend an overall excellence thesis prize chosen from the winners of the 4 domains.
The jury bases its judgment of the theses namely on their technical-scientific quality, written presentatie, application in practice and the quality of research in the scientific field.
