Background information

The thesis prize is for Wageningen University students who have written an excellent thesis or publication in the master phase of their study.

Each year 4 Wageningen University students are awarded a thesis prize for its level of excellence by the Wageningen University Fund (WUF). One prize is awarded per education domain. The 4 domains are: life sciences, social sciences, environmental sciences, and agro-technology and food.

Starting in 2012, the Wageningen University Fund will also extend an overall excellence thesis prize chosen from the winners of the 4 domains.

The jury bases its judgment of the theses namely on their technical-scientific quality, written presentatie, application in practice and the quality of research in the scientific field.
