Do you want to dive into the academic world after your studies? Are you working on your thesis? Or even writing an academic publication? Or just interested in academics?

Are you often questioning yourself: WHAT NOW?

In that case, visit this event organised by young-KLV at 31st of March and learn from our speakers and your fellow students how to undertake those firsts steps into the academic world by writing your first academic publication.
Three guest speakers are willing to share their experiences on how to design those first steps by academic writing, for example as a follow-up on your (master) thesis.

Our three guest speakers are:

  • Dr. Marijn Poortvliet: associate professor at WUR, with a background in behavioural science. He is specialised in (risk) communication and is interested in the interactions between humans and technology, often within the context of sustainable decision making. Martijn regularly supervises thesis students, and some of these projects have led to scientific publications. He will share his experiences as student supervisor in academic writing.
  • Prof.Dr.Ir. Laurens Klerkx: professor at the 'Knowledge, Technology and Innovation Group' at WUR with a specialism in innovative agriculture. As an editor of several academic journals, such as 'Agricultural Systems'and 'Agricultural Education and Extension', Laurens is able to give us a peek behind the scenes of an academic journal. Moreover, he will focus on the proces behind reviewing a paper.
  • Msc-Student Kevin van Diepen: student Climate Studies writing a paper (atm!!!) as a follow-up on his master thesis. Kevin will share his student experiences, anecdotes and some usefull tips & tricks.

There will be enough time for all your questions and hopefully some fruitful discussions.
Are you not able to wait anymore before starting your academic career?
Visit our event and get to know from three perspectives how this actually works out in real-life.

There will be a tea & coffee table available and afterwards we would like to invite you for some drinks with us!
